Greasemonkey 0.9.18 Release

The entire list of bugs handled in this release is also available via the 0.9.18 milestone on GitHub. Note that as always it takes some time for Mozilla to review the new version, but it's available on the all versions page immediately.

If you are using it and notice problems, it's best to log an issue or let us know at greasemonkey-dev (and be clear that it's with this version).

Enhancements:
Bug fixes:
  • Add-on Manager shows correct data when re-installing (e.g. to update) a script. (#1476)
  • Re-installed scripts are put into the same directory as the original. (#1515)
  • The matches property of GM_info is now a list of (pattern) strings. (#1516)

.18 doesn't support some of the scripts I use often so I am very disappointed especially that I am unable to downgrade back to .17 to correct the problem.

First: what scripts? Please give us more information:

Second: you absolutely can downgrade if you choose. The Mozilla Add-ons site hosts all versions of all extensions. Greasemonkey's all versions page is:

I sure love your Greasemonkey, but I can't hide the icon anymore. Am I being stupid (i.e. Is there an option I'm missing?), or is the deal that I must pay for cool enhancement of websites with a burning, malevolent simian stare? That's some Faustian stylings you have there friends, my potential stupidity notwithstanding. Respect.
