I've just posted an update to Greasemonkey that fixes a recent publicly disclosed security issue. Please upgrade to the latest version as soon as possible.
Note that this update might affect compatibility for a small number of scripts. Script authors should see the Greasemonkey wiki for details and workarounds.
I have also enabled support for Firefox 3 Beta in this build for those who have been asking about that.
Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience. For help or questions about Greasemonkey, join the greasemonkey-users mailing list.
To report security issues, please mail the details to greasemonkey-admins@googlegroups.com.

Kevin,
I recently added a CAPTCHA to the comment form. I'll see if that blocks them.
I tried going back and cleaning up the old stuff, but there is too much and I could not find a mass removal UI.
This update broke a majority of my scripts. I would very much like to revert to the previous version. Where can I download it?
Shawn, you can get recent old builds here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/748
Do you suppose you could make or add on a feature to your auto refresher that refreshes pages with a step feature? E.g. Step one refresh ever 10 minutes, step 2 refresh ever 1 second step 3 refresh ever 10 minutes and then at the end of the steps it repeats itself? Please comment me back.
Please keep up updated about GreaseMonkey development.
Some new features, information and screenies...
i'm nowadays not feeling secure on userscripts.org cus of Too many Cookies stealer scripts.

suddenly greasemonkey is no longer working for me. I'm using it with platypus, I've no clue about scripts, except that it used to work, now it doesn't.
Hi, thanks a lot for Greasemonkey in general! Is there a way to donate your work?
Firefox 3.0b4pre claims it's incompatible. Any way to just make it compatible with all 3.0 versions of Firefox? I'd rather have it try and break than not try at all.
I don't know what you've done.. but greasemonkey now is not only working but I can't even download it again after trying for a reinstall.. i get a hash error on download and no scripts running.
It appears that the latest version of Java is incompatable with greasemonkey and causes it to crash. I can't even get it to download [any version] of greasemonkey without a file hash error [-261]
where is greasemonkey installed? I can't seem to find it in the extensions folder in firefox.
Errm..I just wanna be able to make greasemonkey work with firefox installed on a portable drive.
Help?
If you can, please send the answer to reeeil@gmail.com.
Thanks.
If you get "error 261", the extension Video Downloadhelper version 3.0.1 may cause the issue, if you have it, you should update it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420278#c17
thanks yeah
Please enable beta 4 soon. I miss my greasemonkey.

gm_script not created.
Does not work on FF3 beta 5 .
Please help!
When support for Firefox 3 beta 5 will be added for greasemonkey?
Does not work on FF3 beta 5.
Please help us!
Also using FF 3 Beta 5 and greasemonkey will not run. Is there a workaround that we can do in Firefox to make the current version work with Beta 5?
I'm also using Firefox beta 5 and would really appreciate an update to Greasemonkey!
*waits for update for b5*
Here is a workaround for users of Firefox Beta versions. For testing purposes you can tell the application to somewhat ignore compatibility checks when installing add-ons. Simply create the boolean preference extensions.checkCompatibility and set it to false.
WARNING: this may crash your browser.
Just to add to my previous post about using extensions in Beta 5...
Poorly designed or incompatible extensions can cause problems with your browser, including make it crash, slow down page display, etc. If you encounter strange problems relating to parts of the browser no longer working, the browser not starting, windows with strange or distorted appearance, degraded performance, etc, you may be suffering from Extension or Theme trouble. Restart the browser in Safe Mode. On Windows, start using the "Safe Mode" shortcut created in your Start menu or by running firefox.exe -safe-mode.
(cont'd)
On Linux, start with ./firefox -safe-mode and on Mac OS X, run:
cd /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/
./firefox-bin -safe-mode
When started in Safe Mode all extensions are disabled and the Default theme is used. Disable the Extension/Theme that is causing trouble and then start normally.
How to install it on Vista ? ? ?
I m worried ! :( Some One Plz HELP !!
i have just update of firefox to version 3 beat 5, after update of it. greasemonkey cannot be use as it say not compatiable with this version of firefox. will it be soon to have a new version of greasemonkey?
thanks~
Greasemonkey doesn't work with FF3 beta 5. Thanks
Why the fawk do 200 anonymous users need to tell us that it doesn't work in FF3b5?! Don't you think we *KNOW* that already?!
Still needs to be updated for 3.0b5!
Damn, still doesn't work on v3 B5 yet.... :(
Any plans to update for FF 3 Beta 5?
To those who have updated and greasemonkey is disabed. Open up your extensions directory, open the greasemonkey folder (whichever long UUID it's under) and edit the install.rdf file to say
3.0b5 instead of 3.0b3
Save, restart firefox.
As with any hack, your mileage will vary :-)
igitur: Doesn't work in FF 3 beta 5. Just thought you'd like to know.
Update to FF3 Beta5 please?!?!
fyi -- doesn't werk in FF beta 5. just thought you would like to know.
Is this project dead now? Last update was 3 months ago...
I mean, as everyone else has said, GM STILL doesn't work in FF v3 B5!!
Not just that, but the pre-release of the final of FF v3 is already out which means that soon, FF v3 will hit final stage and will no longer be beta, and yet Greasemonkey still has YET to be updated!!!
Doesn't work in ff3 beta 5..
I think they knew that FFb5 doesn't work 50 comments ago. The sense of entitlement from some users (and I hope just a small percentage) is upsetting.
Installing the Beta also accepts that you're testing incomplete software still in development. If you're using the beta, you should be capable of fixing GM yourself, as comments above have already helped out with.
Yes baby! Guys, go to the Greasemonkey addon page in FF 3 b5 and you'll see that it lets you install it now and doesnt give a "This addon is for older versions" message!
Thank you!
Hi,
I would appreciate if someone let me know how to install in Firefox 3. addons.mozilla.org does not allow it anymore ("This add-on is for older versions of Firefox").
I use nightly tester tools so all I need is to find the xpi file somehow.
