I just installed greasemonkey, and it let me install my first script [had to go into 'new user script'], but from that point onwards, i cannot install any more. What am I doing wrong? I have un-installed and re-installed ... just won't let me do it. Please post back on here and i'll check back later today.

Dear anonymous of 23 Dec 2007: Does not work (even with maxVersion fiddled with)? Or does work but needs that edit? The difference between the two is the difference between late support and early support.

(Perhaps obviously the Nightly Tester Tools are an equivalent method of getting round maxVersion.)

Using FF v 2.0.0.11 and GM v 0.7.20070607.0

I uninstalled the previous version of GM as I wanted to start fresh. The new install will not let me save anything in the included pages section. I add http://groups.google.com/*, click okay but it is never saved. tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times.

Ideas??

PS - had GM enabled and disabled, while trying to add to the inluded pages box. Results the same either way.

Using "Save as" on Install Greasemonkey 0.7 Candidate (0.7.20070523.0.xpi) will give you a .xpi file containing HTML. OTOH, it re-directs you to addons.mozilla.org offering version 0.7.20070607.0-fx.

Referred-to directory contains following versions:

greasemonkey-0.7.20071121.0.xpi
greasemonkey-0.8.20071208.0.xpi

I clicked to install Greasemonkey 0.7

This is the first time I've ever tried downloading a script for ConquerClub.

Anyways, it says the download was succesful and I restarted Firefox, and under Tools I see the Greasemonkey tab is checked to enabled.

However, it doesn't seem to do anything. Help?

FOUND a slight PROBLEM:
If you have the "manage user scripts" box opened while you try to add scripts, YOUR SCRIPTS ARE ONLY TEMPORARILY INSTALLED, but the status bar still says "successfully installed."

I found this out the hard way after adding a bunch of scripts only to find after restarting FF that none were there.

Again, not a major pitfall, easiest fix would be to add a warning to close the "manage user scripts" box before adding scripts.
